I was born in Barcelona, in the year of the dragon, on 30th December 1976.
When I was little I dreamt of being a concert pianist, but destiny has taken me on very different paths. Although music has always been and remains my guiding light, at one moment in time the path I took was to devote myself to my three children.
I believe in effort, in hours and hours dedicated to music, in the connections with the people I have encountered along the way.
I am a classically trained pianist who allowed herself the freedom to stop being a performer in order to experiment, discover, explore, play, blend and harmonise my creative essence and simply be myself.
At the age of three, I began my music studies at the Estudi Teresa Maria School of Music and Dance in the coastal town of Premià de Mar near Barcelona where I was introduced to the methods of Émile Jaques-Dalcroze and Edgar Willems. At the same time, I was studying piano and dance under the supervision of my mother.
I studied piano at the Liceu Conservatory of Music in Barcelona and graduated in 1999 with a music degree specialising in piano.
In 1993, I began taking classes in Barcelona with Leonid N. Sintsev, professor at the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory in Saint Petersburg.
During my time as Sintsev’s student, I played a series of concerts throughout Catalonia. Ten years of intense work for the person to whom I owe everything I know as a musician and pianist.
In 1994, I began violin lessons with Olga Mujortova and studied with her for two years.
In 1996, I played Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A Minor, op. 16, with the Göppingen Jüggen Music Orchester.
In 1997, I attended the Cabrils Music Festival as a piano student and when I wasn’t actively participating in the piano lessons, I attended the master classes given by the Russian violinist Gregory Ghislin.
In 1998, I played at the Music Museum in Munich with the violinist Nicolas Koeckert.
During the 1998-1999 academic year, I spent two terms at the Rimsky Korsakov Conservatory in Saint Petersburg, where I took classes in harmonics with Denis Markov. I also continued studying with Leonid Sintsev.
In 1999, I played a series of concerts with the Russian violinist Gregory Valisenko in Barcelona.
From 1999 to 2001, I attended piano classes at the Ars Academy in Rome with Luigi Mostacci, a teacher from the Bologna Conservatory.
In summer 1999, I took part in a course about Mozart in Walkraiburg, with Professor Kauffman, from the Mozarteum in Salzburg.
In 2001, I played the Saint-Saëns Piano Concerto No.2 in G Minor, op.22, with the Göppingen Jüggen Music Orchester.
From 2002 to 2004, I took a degree in piano performance at the Esmuc Conservatory of Music in Barcelona where I took a master class with Paul Badura-Skoda on Johann Sebastian Bach and Mozart.
Since 2001, I have been teaching harmonics and piano at the Estudi Teresa Maria School of Music and Dance.
In 2007, 3 years after having my first child, I entered the Maria Canals piano competition in Barcelona. It was then that I discovered that composing was what I wanted to do.
From 2007 until 2013, I devoted most of my time to bringing up my three children.
In 2014, I embarked on a new phase in my life with a period of musical research and analysis that had been a growing interest of mine since 2011. I analysed Bach’s 48 Preludes and Fugues and was filled with wonder at what I discovered.
I investigated works by Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Scriabin, as well as Chopin’s 24 Études and Liszt’s Transcendental Studies, in order to understand why certain works and harmonies appealed to me so much. I didn’t just analyse them but began to gain a new insight into each one of them.
I didn’t start analysing Beethoven’s works until 2020 and I am still discovering another world. This was when a long period of learning and self-discovery began.
From this point, I began to reflect on the importance of placing classical piano playing in the context of contemporary music.
From 2018 to 2020, I took a course with Adrià Casadevall at the Microfusa school in Barcelona to learn to use a DAW. I also took classes about how synthesis worked.
It was here that I was introduced to the digital world and I discovered a plethora of creative possibilities.
